the wind's tale

Perhaps I wouldn't have remember it if there wasn't this twinkle in your eyes. Your laughter sung inside of me, sent wishfulnesses down my spine with every breeze. "Why don't you come with me.", you lured me and your rustling voice surrounded me, "Oh you know so well it's there, waiting to enfold you in it's arms." The prickle wandered into my fingertips, my toes, set on by the doubts and the restlessness of my soul. You expected too much of me and I wondered why you, who dashed off so airily all the times before, wanted to take me with you. Why you craved so much for the fulfilment of my deepest wish. But how could I abandon this bleak world I was much too familiar with? You teased me carrying all the scents, the rain, the voices while putting forth your coolish hands to me. I reached out for you and suddenly it rushed all over me, your breath kept all my wishes, told me the tale of the green land, where the sky was so high, the land so wide. And for a moment I felt like my heart would burst into a million little pieces. And so I handed in, overwhelmed by all my longings, by you who knew all my secrets and relieved me with a knowing smile. I saw the water deep down underneath you as the clouds scudded by to cheer me up, and from time to time I felt the warm sun fondling my forehead. "Welcome home, love", you said.
